A MESSAGE FROM THE CEO
Roosevelt Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Jamason Schmidt as its Chief Executive Officer. He is replacing Audrey Stromberg, who announced her plans to retire in late June after serving as the Administrator for 24 years. Brain Fordyce, Information Technologist, served as interim Administrator during the brief transition phase.
Schmidt brings a wealth of experience in healthcare administration and a commitment to patient-centered care.
“I am honored to join the Roosevelt Medical Center team,” said Schmidt. “Together, we will continue to provide exceptional care and improve the health and well-being of our community,” he added.
Schmidt holds a master’s degree in health policy, and administration from Washington State University and a bachelor’s degree in health administration from Brigham Young University, in Idaho.
He has served in various leadership roles within the healthcare industry. Most recently, he was the Chief Operating Officer for Chadron Community Hospital and Health Services in Chadron, Nebraska. Prior to that, he held several management roles in healthcare facilities in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho, earning awards and recognition for facilities along the way. Some of them included the Women’s Choice Award for Best Hospital in 2024, and the Chartis Group Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals recognition in 2022, for Chadron Community Hospital and Healthcare Services.
His passion for quality healthcare delivery and community engagement aligns perfectly with Roosevelt Medical Center’s mission. “My goals are to make RMC the best critical access hospital in Montana, and ensure we stay viable as a place where the community can receive care well into the future,” he said.
Schmidt spent the last four years living in Nebraska, and the last eight years living in other states. Growing up in Fairfield, Montana, he wanted to return to the state when an opportunity presented itself. “This is home. I deeply appreciate the rugged beauty of Montana and the resilience of its people. Living here means understanding the unique blend of self-reliance, community spirit, and the vastness of our landscapes. As we tackle healthcare challenges in our frontier communities, my commitment is to ensure accessible, quality care that honors our Montana way of life,” he said.
